Bald Eagle Habitat
The Bald Eagle's habitat includes trees that are larger than the surrounding trees. Below is a map of towns in Massachusetts. The towns that are shaded in have Bald Eagles nested there. In 2008, there are 26 towns that have Bald Eagles living there. Bald Eagles are becoming endangered because humans are polluting the air and releasing a pollutant called DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) and when the Bald Eagles inhale it, it makes the shells of their offspring have very thin, toxicated or no shell.
Habitat Assessment
There are many differences between the Bald Eagle's habitat and its niche. To begin with, the habitat of the Bald Eagle includes mainly tees that are taller than the surrounding trees. The perfect habitat and animal can live in has plenty of food, water, shelter and space. That Bald Eagle mainly feeds on fish from nearby streams (food), drink water from the streams (water), they build nests in the trees (shelter), and they pick the tree for its space available (space). On the other hand, a niche is a job that an animal does in its habitat. The Bald Eagle's niche is to eat salmon and keep the population downs so the salmon don't make another species extinct. To conclude, there are many differences between the Bald Eagle's habitat and its niche.
Food Chain
On the food chain for its habitat, the Bald Eagle is at the top of the food chain because it doesn't have many predators and has lots of prey, many animals fear the Bald Eagle because it is fearless.
